Our Story

Herbal Cup Tea is a family business. Our founder began studying Ayurveda at the age of twelve, under his grandfather, and has been formulating blends from that lineage ever since.

We launched Herbal Cup Tea on November 11, 2013, with a simple intent: bring authentic, affordable Ayurvedic blends to America. Whole Foods picked up our first ten teas almost immediately, and a wave of independent health-food stores followed. People loved them — and over the years that original ten has grown into a full Ayurvedic tea line.

Every blend draws on the Ayurvedic tradition — the Indian botanical philosophy that has been passed down through families like ours for over five thousand years. Our founder personally selects each herb and studies how it pairs with others (root with root, root with leaf), following classical Ayurvedic formulation principles. The result is a tea line where the herbs are recognizable in the cup, not buried as token ingredients.

Our founder still travels every year to meet the farmers who grow our herbs — because the quality of the leaf, the root, and the spice in your cup starts at the farm. We blend and package every box in our California facility, which is FDA-registered and follows the same Good Manufacturing Practices as pharmaceutical-grade supplement makers.
