BedNite is our caffeine-free evening tea, made for people who like to end the day with something warm in hand: cool spearmint and soft chamomile up front, earthy valerian root underneath, and a tart hibiscus finish. USDA Organic, blended in California.

Why We Blend Spearmint with Chamomile in BedNite

Plenty of evening teas are chamomile and little else. We built this one differently.

Our founder spent years studying how Ayurvedic tradition approaches the transition from day to night. In that tradition, evening is not something you fall into. It is something you prepare for — a deliberate winding down, a ritual as important as any morning routine.

In BedNite, we use a generous amount of spearmint and chamomile alongside valerian root — a root herb with a long history in traditional herbalism, much like ashwagandha. Valerian combines beautifully with the other botanicals in this blend, creating something that feels complete rather than one-note. Hibiscus adds a subtle tartness that balances the cool mint and soft florals.

This is a tea made for one time of day. Not a tea that happens to be caffeine-free. A tea designed from the ground up for that quiet window of time when the lights are low, the day is behind you, and you have nothing left to do but be still.

What BedNite Tea Tastes Like

🌿 First sip: Cool, bright spearmint that opens the palate 🌸 Mid-palate: Soft chamomile florals and a gentle earthiness from valerian root, with no heaviness 🌙 Finish: A tart whisper of hibiscus, fading into a clean, lightly sweet aftertaste

Tasting notes: cool mint · soft floral · earthy valerian depth · tart hibiscus · lightly sweet

Our customers' favorite add-ins:

  • Honey — the classic pairing, rounds out the mint beautifully
  • A splash of warm milk — turns it into a cozy, creamy nightcap
  • Nothing at all — the cup already finishes lightly sweet on its own

How to Brew BedNite Tea

Standard cup: Pour freshly boiled water (200-212°F) over one tea bag. Steep 5-7 minutes. Leave the tea bag in the cup for a fuller, more aromatic experience.

Stronger brew: Use two bags or steep 10+ minutes. Gently press the tea bag with a spoon before removing to release every last drop of herbal extract. Longer steeping gives a deeper, earthier cup.

Our founder's bedtime ritual: Steep one bag in boiling water for 7-10 minutes. Gently squeeze the bag. Add a drizzle of honey if you like. Drink it as warm as possible, once the day is done. Bundle up. No screens. Just the cup and the quiet.

Warm BedNite latte: Brew one bag in a small amount of hot water (about 4 oz) for 10 minutes. Add warm oat milk or whole milk. The spearmint and chamomile become incredibly smooth and creamy — a caffeine-free nightcap.

BedNite Tea — FAQ

What does BedNite tea taste like? The first thing you notice is the spearmint — cool and bright. Then soft chamomile florals come through, followed by a gentle earthiness from valerian root. Hibiscus adds a subtle tartness at the finish, and the cup ends lightly sweet. It is a layered, smooth cup with more going on than chamomile alone.

Is this tea caffeine-free? Can I drink it right before bed? Yes, BedNite is naturally caffeine-free. It contains no green tea, black tea, or any caffeinated ingredients. It was designed specifically as an evening cup — many of our customers make it the last thing they drink before bed.

What is valerian root, and why is it in this tea? Valerian is a root herb with a long history in traditional herbalism. Our founder likes to pair a root with leaves, and valerian is the root in BedNite. It gives the cup a distinctive earthy depth that anchors the lighter mint and floral notes.

How is BedNite different from our 12-herb Ashwagandha tea? That tea is a daytime and evening blend of 12 herbs built around ashwagandha root, and it is one of our best sellers. BedNite is narrower and more deliberate: five herbs, chosen for the end of the day. Think of the Ashwagandha tea as the all-day companion and BedNite as the closer.

What is the best way to brew this tea for the evening? Pour freshly boiled water over one tea bag and steep for 7-10 minutes — longer steeping brings out more of the valerian earthiness and chamomile sweetness. Gently squeeze the bag before removing. Drink it as warm as possible. Our founder likes it as the last cup of the evening, screens off, just the cup and the quiet.

A Note from Herbal Cup

BedNite is a blend we are particular about: a generous measure of spearmint and chamomile, with valerian root underneath. Valerian is a root, as ashwagandha is, and it combines well with the leaves and flowers around it. These are traditional botanicals that have been part of evening rituals for centuries, and that is what this tea is for — a quiet moment to yourself at the end of the day.
