Hook

This is the tea our customers call "the best tasting tea I've ever had" — and it earned that title without a single drop of artificial flavoring, added sugar, or caffeine. Organic elderberries celebrated in European tradition for thousands of years, rosehips naturally rich in vitamin C, and vibrant hibiscus flowers come together in a fruity, ruby-red cup that tastes just as extraordinary iced as it does hot.

Story

Elderberries have been used in Europe as a super herb over thousands of years. This is not a new discovery — this is one of the oldest, most revered berries on the continent. And when our founder set out to build a tea around elderberry, the question was never if — it was who to pair it with.

The answer turned out to be two of the most naturally complementary fruits in the herbal world: rosehip and hibiscus. Rosehip is known to have very high vitamin C — fourteen times more vitamin C than an orange, according to published botanical references. Hibiscus brings a tangy brightness and that unmistakable deep ruby color that makes every cup feel special before you even take the first sip. Then chamomile flowers soften the whole blend into something mellow and inviting, and a touch of stevia leaf rounds it out with clean, natural sweetness.

The result is a tea that our customers ranked number three in our entire lineup for taste — and that is saying something, because our lineup has some serious competition. People reach for this tea because it is genuinely refreshing. It is fruity without being sugary. It is tart without being sharp. It is beautiful in the cup. And it works in ways most teas do not — hot on a winter evening, iced on a summer afternoon, mixed with lemonade at a backyard gathering, or brewed as sun tea in a glass jar on your porch.

This is the most fun tea we make. And it sells itself on flavor alone.

What You'Ll Taste

🫐 First sip: Bright, berry-forward sweetness from elderberry — fruity and full, not candy-like but genuinely reminiscent of fresh dark berries 🌺 Mid-palate: Hibiscus tanginess lifts the cup with a tart, cranberry-like brightness while rosehip adds a smooth, rounded fruitiness — the two together create a sweet-tart balance that is incredibly refreshing 🌼 Finish: Soft chamomile florals smooth the landing, followed by a clean, gentle sweetness from stevia leaf — no aftertaste, just a lingering berry warmth

Tasting notes: dark berry sweetness · tart hibiscus brightness · smooth rosehip fruitiness · soft chamomile · clean natural sweetness · ruby-red color

Our customers' favorite add-ins:

  • Nothing at all — the natural sweetness is so good that most customers skip the sugar entirely
  • Mixed with lemonade and fresh berries — a fruity summer refresher that looks as good as it tastes
  • A drizzle of honey — deepens the berry sweetness into something almost jam-like
  • A squeeze of lemon — lifts the tartness and makes the iced version even more refreshing
  • Over ice with sparkling water — a caffeine-free, naturally sweet tea spritzer

How To Brew

Standard cup: Pour freshly boiled water (200-212°F) over one tea bag. Steep 5-7 minutes. The elderberry and hibiscus come forward first with gorgeous ruby color flooding the cup. The chamomile softness deepens as the steep continues.

Stronger brew: Use two bags or steep 10+ minutes. Gently press the tea bag with a spoon before removing to release every last drop. Herbal teas never turn bitter — they only get richer, and this one rewards patience with deeper berry flavor and a more intense ruby hue.

Iced elderberry (customer favorite): Brew two bags in 8 oz of hot water for 10 minutes. Let cool, pour over a full glass of ice. The color is stunning — deep ruby red — and the fruity tartness becomes incredibly refreshing cold. Add a squeeze of lemon or a sprig of fresh mint if you want to dress it up.

Sun tea: Place 3-4 bags in a glass jar with 32 oz of cold water. Set in the sun for 2-3 hours. The slow extraction produces a smooth, mellow sweetness with vibrant color. Pour over ice. This is how our customers make it all summer long.

Berry lemonade tea: Brew two bags strong (10 minutes in 8 oz of hot water). Let cool. Mix with equal parts lemonade. Add fresh berries — strawberries, blueberries, raspberries. Pour over ice. As one of our customers put it, this is the drink that makes people ask what you are having.

Our founder's cup: Steep one bag in boiling water for a full 7-10 minutes. Squeeze the bag gently. Drink it as warm as possible. No sweetener needed — the elderberry, rosehip, and stevia already deliver a naturally sweet, full-bodied cup. Simple and perfect.

Faq

What does Elderberries Tea Organic Rosehips Hibiscus taste like? Fruity, naturally sweet, and refreshing with a beautiful sweet-tart balance. Elderberry leads with a rich, dark berry sweetness — not candy-like but genuinely fruity. Hibiscus lifts the cup with a bright, tangy tartness and gives it that stunning ruby-red color. Rosehip adds a smooth, rounded fruitiness, chamomile softens the finish with gentle florals, and stevia leaf provides a clean natural sweetness. Many customers tell us they do not need to add any sugar at all.

Is this tea caffeine-free? Can I drink it any time of day? Yes. This is a 100% herbal blend — naturally caffeine-free, with no green tea, black tea, or any caffeinated ingredients. It is perfect morning, afternoon, or evening — hot, iced, or as sun tea.

Can I make this tea iced? Absolutely — and many of our customers say the iced version is their favorite way to enjoy it. Brew two bags strong in hot water, let cool, and pour over ice. The ruby-red color is stunning in a glass, and the fruity tartness becomes incredibly refreshing cold. You can also make sun tea by placing 3-4 bags in cold water in a glass jar and setting it in the sun for 2-3 hours.

What are the benefits of rosehips? Rosehips are the fruit of the rose plant and are known to have very high vitamin C — fourteen times more vitamin C than an orange, according to published botanical references. In this blend, rosehip also contributes a smooth, rounded fruitiness that balances the tartness of the hibiscus.

Why elderberries? What makes them special? Elderberries have been celebrated in European herbal tradition for thousands of years — they are one of the oldest and most revered berries on the continent. In this tea, elderberry brings a rich, dark berry sweetness that forms the fruity backbone of the blend. Combined with rosehip and hibiscus, it creates a flavor profile that our customers ranked number three in our entire lineup for taste.

Does it contain sugar or artificial sweeteners? No sugar, no artificial sweeteners, no artificial flavoring. The sweetness comes from the natural fruit itself — elderberries and rosehips — plus a touch of organic stevia leaf. Five organic ingredients, that is it.

Can I mix this tea with other drinks? Yes. Our customers love mixing the iced version with lemonade and fresh berries for a fruity summer refresher. It also works beautifully with sparkling water for a caffeine-free tea spritzer. The natural sweetness and ruby color make it a versatile base for creative drinks.

FOUNDER'S NOTE

"Elderberries have been used in Europe as a super herb over thousands of years — this is not something new. I have combined elderberry, rosehip, and hibiscus, and together they create something really special. Rosehip is known to have very high vitamin C — fourteen times more vitamin C than an orange. And the hibiscus gives it that beautiful ruby-red color and a tartness that balances everything. Then the chamomile smooths it all out. This tea is refreshing — really, genuinely refreshing. People drink it hot, they drink it iced, they make sun tea with it. It is the kind of tea that sells itself. Once you taste it, you understand." — Founder of Herbal Cup Tea
