Why This Tea Works
Turmeric Root
Organic turmeric root, rich in curcumin — a cornerstone of Ayurvedic wellness tradition for centuries.
Ginger Root
Organic ginger root with natural gingerol — prized in Ayurveda for its warming, aromatic qualities.
Black Pepper
Black pepper with natural piperine — traditionally combined with turmeric in Ayurveda to enhance its benefits.
"Black pepper is the key — it's traditionally paired with turmeric in Ayurvedic practice to enhance absorption."
Our original turmeric ginger black pepper tea — this is the tea that put Herbal Cup on the map, and the one our customers reorder more than any other. Organic turmeric with 5.5% curcumin (most teas use 1.5% or less), bold ginger, and black pepper, blended in our California facility using a centuries-old Ayurvedic recipe.
Why Turmeric, Ginger & Black Pepper
Turmeric, ginger, and black pepper have been brewed together in Indian households for generations. We didn't invent this recipe — we honored it.
Our founder personally sources turmeric with 5.5% curcumin, verified by independent lab testing. Most turmeric teas on the market contain just 1.5%. The difference is something you can see in the cup — deep golden color — and taste in every sip.
Black pepper is not an accident in this blend. In Ayurvedic tradition, it has always been turmeric's companion. And the ginger? It brings the warmth that ties everything together.
What You'll Taste
☕ First sip: A warm, golden earthiness from the turmeric 🌶️ Mid-palate: Bold, spicy ginger heat ⚡ Finish: A subtle "bite" from the black pepper that lingers
Our customers' favorite add-ins:
- Honey — the #1 pairing across all our teas
- Fresh lemon — brightens the golden warmth
- Whole milk — for a rich Golden Turmeric Latte
How to Brew
Standard cup: Pour boiling water (200–212°F) over one tea bag. Steep 5–7 minutes.
Stronger brew: Use two bags or steep 10+ minutes. Herbal teas only get richer with time. Gently press the tea bag with a spoon before removing.
Golden Turmeric Latte: Brew one bag in a small amount of water. Add warm whole milk and a spoonful of honey. Enjoy 1–2 hours before bed. This is our founder's personal favorite way to drink this tea.
In the kitchen: Drop 2–3 tea bags into soups, bone broth, or grain dishes while cooking for an Ayurvedic twist.
