Hook
In the West, fennel is the herb people reach for after a big meal. In India, it's ajwain — a rare, aromatic seed that's been part of Ayurvedic after-meal tradition for centuries — and this USDA Organic, caffeine-free blend is built around it.
Story
Everyone knows fennel. In Europe, in America, after a big dinner, fennel is the herb people turn to. It's familiar. It's comforting. But in India, there's something else — something most people in the West have never heard of.
It's called ajwain.
Ajwain is a seed that only grows in India. It has been used in Indian kitchens and Ayurvedic tradition for centuries — the same way fennel has been used in the West. If you had to describe it, you'd say it sits somewhere between oregano and fennel — warm, aromatic, and savory, with a depth that fennel alone can't reach.
Our founder grew up with ajwain. It was always in the kitchen. It was always in the cup after a meal. When he set out to create a digestion tea, there was never a question about what would anchor the formula. Not just fennel. Not just ginger. Ajwain — with fennel, ginger, coriander, spearmint, and a careful balance of cinnamon, licorice, and black pepper behind it.
This is not a tea that copies what's already on the shelf. This is a tea that brings something genuinely new to your cup — an ingredient with centuries of Ayurvedic tradition behind it that most Westerners are tasting for the very first time.
What You'Ll Taste
🌿 First sip: Bright, cool spearmint that opens the palate, with fennel sweetness close behind 🔥 Mid-palate: Warm, aromatic ajwain — oregano-like and savory — layered with ginger heat and coriander depth ✨ Finish: Cinnamon warmth, a subtle peppery bite from black pepper, and a clean, naturally sweet close from licorice and stevia
Tasting notes: cool mint · fennel sweetness · warm oregano-like ajwain · ginger heat · cinnamon spice · clean peppery finish
Our customers' favorite add-ins:
- Nothing at all — this tea is already naturally sweet from licorice root and stevia leaf
- A small piece of fresh ginger — doubles down on the warmth
- Honey — if you prefer a sweeter cup, but try it plain first
How To Brew
Standard cup (after-meal): Pour freshly boiled water (200-212°F) over one tea bag. Steep 5-7 minutes. Leave the tea bag in your cup for a fuller, more aromatic experience. Drink as warm as possible.
Stronger brew: Use two bags or steep 10+ minutes. Gently press the tea bag with a spoon before removing to extract every last bit of the spice blend. Herbal teas never turn bitter — they only get richer.
Our founder's after-dinner ritual: Steep one bag in boiling water for 7-10 minutes. Gently squeeze the bag. Drink it as warm as you can, without any sweetener — the licorice and stevia already provide a gentle natural sweetness. This is your post-dinner cup. Settle in.
Iced after-meal refresher: Brew two bags in a small amount of hot water for 10 minutes. Let cool. Pour over ice. The fennel and spearmint become incredibly crisp and refreshing — a perfect warm-weather after-meal option.

Faq
What does Ayurveda Tea for Digestion taste like? The first thing you notice is the spearmint — bright and cool. Then fennel sweetness comes through, followed by the star of the blend: ajwain, which has a warm, savory, oregano-like character unlike anything in most Western teas. Ginger and cinnamon add warmth underneath, and the cup finishes clean and naturally sweet from licorice root and stevia. It's aromatic, layered, and genuinely unlike any other tea on the shelf.
What is ajwain, and why is it in this tea? Ajwain is a seed that only grows in India. It has been used in Ayurvedic tradition and Indian kitchens for centuries — think of it as India's answer to fennel. The flavor sits somewhere between oregano and fennel: warm, aromatic, and savory. Most people in the West have never tasted it, which is exactly why our founder built this blend around it.
When is the best time to drink this tea? It was crafted as an after-meal tea — your post-dinner cup. Many of our customers make it a ritual after their biggest meal of the day. That said, it's caffeine-free, so you can enjoy it any time.
Is this tea caffeine-free? Yes. This is a 100% herbal blend — naturally caffeine-free. You can enjoy it after lunch, after dinner, or any time of day.
How is this different from a regular fennel tea? Most after-meal teas rely on fennel or peppermint alone. This blend starts with ajwain — a rare Indian spice most Westerners have never encountered — and builds around it with fennel, ginger, coriander, spearmint, cinnamon, licorice, stevia, and black pepper. It's nine organic ingredients working together, not a single-note herb.
How should I brew this tea for the best experience? Pour freshly boiled water over one tea bag and steep for 5-10 minutes — longer steeping releases more of the ajwain and ginger warmth. Leave the bag in your cup if you prefer a fuller cup. Our founder recommends drinking it as warm as possible, without added sweetener.
FOUNDER'S NOTE
"Digestion tea is a very unique tea because we use a very unique item in there called ajwain. Ajwain has been used for centuries in India — it only grows in India. If you know fennel, if you know oregano — ajwain is somewhere between the two. In the West, people reach for fennel after a meal. In India, we reach for ajwain. We have added ajwain and ginger plus a few other herbs to create something that I think you have never tasted before. This is the one tea in our lineup that brings something completely new to the cup." — Founder of Herbal Cup Tea
