Why This Tea Works

Turmeric Root

Organic turmeric root, rich in curcumin — a cornerstone of Ayurvedic wellness tradition for centuries.

Ginger Root

Organic ginger root with natural gingerol — prized in Ayurveda for its warming, aromatic qualities.

Black Pepper

Black pepper with natural piperine — traditionally combined with turmeric in Ayurveda to enhance its benefits.

"Black pepper is the key — it's traditionally paired with turmeric in Ayurvedic practice to enhance absorption."

Hook

When the temperature drops and the wind picks up, this is the cup you reach for. Organic eucalyptus, ginger, licorice root, black pepper, tulsi, and spearmint — ten USDA Organic herbs in a bold, warming, caffeine-free Ayurvedic blend crafted in California for the cold season.

Story

There is a moment every year when the seasons shift — the air turns cold, the weather changes suddenly, and you feel it in your bones. That is the moment this tea was made for.

Our founder built this blend the way he was taught in the Ayurvedic tradition: start with the warming herbs. Ginger is the backbone — bold, fiery, and immediately felt. Black pepper works alongside it, adding a slow, building heat that stays with you long after the last sip. Together, they create a warmth that fills the whole cup.

Then there is the eucalyptus. We use a generous amount of eucalyptus in this blend — and you will know it from the first breath. Before you even taste it, you smell it: clean, aromatic, opening. It is the ingredient that makes this tea unlike anything else on the shelf. Eucalyptus combined with spearmint creates an experience that is as much about the aroma as the flavor.

Licorice root brings the smoothness. It rounds out the ginger's fire and the pepper's bite with a natural sweetness that keeps the blend balanced and drinkable — cup after cup, even without honey. Tulsi adds an herbaceous, grounding depth. Fennel and clove add subtle spice layers. Orange peel and hibiscus bring brightness and color — a vivid ruby-red cup that looks as bold as it tastes.

This is a tea our founder crafted for the coldest, hardest months. Many of our customers enjoy multiple cups during the colder months — morning, afternoon, and evening. It is caffeine-free, so there is no limit to when you can reach for it. It is the kind of cup that feels like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket.

What You'Ll Taste

🌿 First sip: A rush of cool eucalyptus and spearmint aroma — clean and bright — that opens into an immediate ginger warmth 🔥 Mid-palate: Bold, fiery ginger heat layered with the smooth natural sweetness of licorice root and the herbaceous depth of tulsi ✨ Finish: A slow, lingering warmth from black pepper and clove, with a bright citrus lift from orange peel and a gentle tang from hibiscus

Tasting notes: eucalyptus-cool · ginger fire · licorice sweetness · minty aroma · peppery warmth · citrus brightness · clove spice

Our customers' favorite add-ins:

  • Honey — amplifies the natural sweetness and pairs beautifully with the ginger and eucalyptus
  • A squeeze of fresh lemon — sharpens the citrus notes and adds a bright zing to the warming spices
  • Nothing at all — the licorice root provides a gentle natural sweetness that makes this cup satisfying on its own
  • A thin slice of fresh ginger — for those who want to double down on the warmth

How To Brew

Standard cup: Pour freshly boiled water (200-212°F) over one tea bag. Steep 5-7 minutes. The eucalyptus and spearmint will rise first — breathe in the aroma before your first sip. The ginger warmth builds as the steep continues.

Stronger brew: Use two bags or steep 10+ minutes. Gently press the tea bag with a spoon before removing to extract every last drop. The ginger, pepper, and clove intensify beautifully with a longer steep — herbal teas never turn bitter.

our founder's cold-weather ritual: Steep one bag in boiling water for 7-10 minutes. Gently squeeze the bag. Drink it as warm as possible — this is a tea that is meant to be felt, not just sipped. Add honey if desired. Our founder enjoys this cup throughout the cold months, often reaching for it several times a day.

Double-strength warming cup: Brew two bags in 8 oz of boiling water for 10 minutes. Add honey and a squeeze of lemon. This is the bold, concentrated version — a thick, spicy, aromatic cup for the coldest days of winter.

Iced eucalyptus refresher: Brew two bags in 8 oz of hot water for 10 minutes. Let cool and pour over ice. The eucalyptus and spearmint become incredibly crisp — surprisingly refreshing as a chilled drink, even though this blend was designed for warmth.

Faq

What does Ayurveda Tea for Cold & Flu taste like? The first thing you notice is the aroma — clean, bright eucalyptus and spearmint that open up the moment you pour the water. Then the ginger warmth arrives: bold, fiery, and immediate. Licorice root smooths everything out with a natural sweetness, while tulsi adds an herbaceous depth. The cup finishes with a slow, lingering heat from black pepper and clove, plus a bright citrus note from orange peel. It is bold, aromatic, warming, and naturally sweet.

Is this tea caffeine-free? Can I drink multiple cups a day? Yes. This is a 100% herbal blend — naturally caffeine-free, with no green tea, black tea, or any caffeinated ingredients. Many of our customers enjoy several cups throughout the day during the colder months.

What makes this different from other cold-season teas? Most warming teas rely on ginger alone, or ginger with a bit of lemon. This blend combines ten organic herbs — eucalyptus, ginger, licorice root, black pepper, spearmint, tulsi, fennel, hibiscus, orange peel, and clove — in a formula rooted in Ayurvedic tradition. The eucalyptus is especially distinctive: it creates an aromatic experience you will not find in any other tea on the shelf.

Why does this tea have eucalyptus in it? Eucalyptus has been used in traditional herbalism for centuries — it is one of the most recognized aromatic botanicals in the world. In this blend, it serves as the signature aromatic ingredient: bold, clean, and refreshing. Combined with spearmint, it creates an aroma that opens up the moment you pour the hot water, before you even take your first sip.

How should I brew this tea for the best experience? Pour freshly boiled water over one tea bag and steep 5-7 minutes. For a bolder, more warming cup, steep 10+ minutes or use two bags. Gently squeeze the bag before removing. Our founder recommends drinking it as warm as possible. Honey and lemon are popular add-ins, but the licorice root provides enough natural sweetness that many customers enjoy it plain.

When is the best time to drink this tea? It was crafted for the cold season — the months when the weather turns and you want something bold and warming in your hands. It is caffeine-free, so you can drink it morning, afternoon, or evening. Many of our customers make it their daily cup throughout winter.

FOUNDER'S NOTE

"We combine eucalyptus, we combine ginger with it, and we also use a lot of licorice. The ginger and the black pepper — those are the warming spices, and in the Ayurvedic tradition, warmth is everything during the cold months. The eucalyptus, you smell it before you taste it — it opens everything up. This is a bold tea. This is not a gentle, quiet cup. This is a tea that announces itself. Many people who try it tell me they have never had anything like it — that combination of eucalyptus and ginger and pepper together. I crafted it for the coldest days. It is the tea I reach for when the seasons change and the temperature drops." — Founder of Herbal Cup Tea
