Why This Tea Works
Turmeric Root

Hook
Three of the most-loved seasonal herbs from three different traditions — elderberry from European folk medicine, echinacea from native North American tradition, rosehips from the wild rose. Together they make a richly colored, naturally tart-sweet cup that we drink every fall and winter.
Story
Elderberries have been used as a healing herb for centuries. The dried purple berries are rich in flavonoids, vitamins and minerals — and they impart that beautiful red-purple color to the cup.
Echinacea was used by native Americans for hundreds of years to make nutritious infusions — and it has carried that tradition into modern herbal medicine cabinets across the world.
Rosehips — the fruit of the wild rose — have a deep red color and a sweet, citrusy, almost cranberry-like taste. They contain twenty times more Vitamin C than oranges by weight (USDA composition data on whole rosehip).
We add hibiscus, chamomile and stevia leaf to balance the cup — the hibiscus deepens the color and adds tartness, the chamomile rounds the floral edge, and the stevia adds a soft natural sweetness.
What You'll Taste
🍇 First sip: Tart-sweet elderberry — deep, juicy, slightly wild 🌹 Mid-palate: Rosehip and hibiscus — bright, almost cranberry 🌼 Finish: Soft chamomile floral, naturally sweet from stevia
Our customers' favorite add-ins: - Honey — pairs naturally with the elderberry - Fresh lemon — sharpens the tart character - Cinnamon stick — for a holiday-spiced cup
How to Brew
Standard cup: Pour boiling water (200–212°F) over one tea bag. Steep 5–7 minutes — the color develops fast.
Stronger brew: Two bags or 10+ minutes. The longer it steeps, the deeper the red.
Hot toddy style: Brew strong, add honey + fresh lemon + a splash of warm water. A favorite during cold-weather months.
Iced: Brew strong, cool, pour over ice with a slice of orange. Beautiful color, naturally hydrating.

FAQ
What's the difference between this and Elderberries Echinacea (existing)? This blend adds rosehips for a sweeter-tart character and hibiscus + chamomile for a softer, more rounded cup. The original Elderberries Echinacea is more focused — fewer ingredients, a sharper profile.
Is this tea caffeine-free? Yes. All ingredients are naturally caffeine-free.
What is echinacea? Echinacea (purple coneflower) is a native North American flower whose roots and leaves have been used by traditional medicine for centuries. It is one of the most popular herbs in modern wellness teas.
Why are rosehips in this blend? Rosehips are the fruit of the wild rose. They have a sweet-tart, almost cranberry-like flavor and contain a notably high concentration of Vitamin C — historically used as a winter brew across Europe.
Can I drink this every day? Yes — it's a daily-friendly herbal blend. As with any herbal tea, listen to your body.
Founder's Note
"This is the tea on my counter from late September. Elderberry, echinacea and rosehips are three traditions in one cup — Europe, the Americas, and the old wild-rose tradition. We blend them so each one still tastes like itself." — Founder of Herbal Cup Tea
