Turmeric Root
Organic turmeric root, rich in curcumin — a cornerstone of Ayurvedic wellness tradition for centuries.
Ginger Root
Organic ginger root with natural gingerol — prized in Ayurveda for its warming, aromatic qualities.
Black Pepper
Black pepper with natural piperine — traditionally combined with turmeric in Ayurveda to enhance its benefits.
"Black pepper is the key — it's traditionally paired with turmeric in Ayurvedic practice to enhance absorption."
Hook
Matcha and sencha sourced directly from Japan, hand-selected and stone-ground in the traditional way — then paired with organic ginger root for a warming Ayurvedic twist. A steady, clean energy boost with a peppery finish that lingers.
Story
Most matcha you find in tea bags is matcha "dust" — the leftover powder swept up at the end of the day. We don't blend that.
Our matcha and sencha both come from Japan. Matcha leaves are shade-grown for weeks before harvest, hand-selected, briefly steamed to stop fermentation, aged in cold storage, and finally stone-ground into the bright, vivid powder that gives this tea its color and energy. Sencha is the most popular tea in Japan for a reason — bright, refreshing, uplifting, loaded with catechins.
The Ayurvedic twist is the ginger. In India, ginger is what tea drinkers reach for when they want clarity without the jitter — and when matcha meets ginger root, the warmth softens the green vegetal edge into something balanced and revitalizing.
What You'll Taste
🍵 First sip: Bright, grassy umami from the matcha and sencha 🌿 Mid-palate: Smooth green tea body — refreshing, never bitter 🌶️ Finish: A warming, peppery ginger hum that lingers
Our customers' favorite add-ins: - A drizzle of honey — softens the green edge - Fresh lemon — brightens the matcha - Warm oat milk — for a Matcha Ginger Latte
How to Brew
Standard cup: Heat water to 175–185°F (just under boiling — matcha doesn't love full boil). Steep one tea bag 3–5 minutes. Gently agitate the bag to release the matcha powder.
Stronger brew: Use two bags or steep up to 7 minutes. Press the bag with a spoon before removing.
Matcha Ginger Latte: Brew one bag in 2 oz hot water for 4 minutes. Pour into 6 oz of steamed milk (oat or whole). Sweeten with honey or maple. A morning ritual.
Iced: Brew strong and pour over ice — sencha and ginger hold up beautifully cold.

FAQ per Product
Does this tea have caffeine? Yes. Matcha and sencha are both green teas (Camellia sinensis) and naturally contain caffeine. The amount is moderate — less than a coffee, more than a chamomile tea.
Where is the matcha from? Both the matcha and the sencha green tea in this blend are sourced from Japan, where matcha cultivation has been refined for centuries.
Why is ginger in a matcha tea? This is the Ayurvedic twist. Ginger root is a warming Ayurvedic spice that balances the cool, grassy character of green tea — and adds a gentle, peppery finish.
How is this different from drinking pure matcha? A traditional matcha bowl is concentrated and ceremonial. This blend uses tea-bag matcha together with sencha leaves, so it brews like a cup of tea rather than a whisked bowl — easier for daily use, with the same energy lift.
Can I drink this iced? Yes. Brew strong and pour over ice. Sencha and ginger hold up well cold.
Founder's Note
"Matcha is one of the few teas where the sourcing is everything. We bring ours from Japan because that's where the craft lives. The ginger is my Ayurveda — it's what my grandfather would have added if he'd had matcha in front of him." — Founder of Herbal Cup Tea
