Natural Stress & Calm Support
Why This Tea Works
Turmeric Root

Black Pepper
Black pepper with natural piperine — traditionally combined with turmeric in Ayurveda to enhance its benefits.
"Black pepper is the key — it's traditionally paired with turmeric in Ayurvedic practice to enhance absorption."
Ashwagandha (Indian Ginseng) has been used in Ayurveda for centuries — and over the last decade it has become one of the most-studied adaptogens in modern wellness. Our blend is the traditional one: organic ashwagandha root paired with ginger, lemon and orange peel for a gingery, zesty cup that's actually a pleasure to drink.
Why Lemon & Ginger Meet Ashwagandha Root
Ashwagandha is one of those herbs my grandfather treated like a friend. In Ayurveda it's grouped with the rasayanas — the rejuvenating herbs that you take regularly, not just when something is wrong.
The challenge with ashwagandha tea is the flavor. The root is earthy, slightly bitter, with a deep musky character. Most companies hide it behind so much chamomile or vanilla that you can't taste it at all. Our approach is the opposite: we keep the ashwagandha forward, then brighten it with two citrus elements (organic lemon fruit and orange peel) and warm it with ginger root.
The result is a cup that tastes like a tea, not a supplement. Drink it warm or cold.
What You'll Taste
🌾 First sip: Earthy, grounding ashwagandha — clean and herbal 🍋 Mid-palate: Bright lemon and orange peel — zesty, never sour 🌶️ Finish: Warming ginger root — gentle and lingering
Our customers' favorite add-ins:
- Honey — softens the root and lifts the citrus
- Fresh lemon slice — doubles down on the brightness
- A pinch of cinnamon — for an extra Ayurvedic twist
How to Brew
Standard cup: Pour boiling water (200–212°F) over one tea bag. Steep 5–7 minutes.
Stronger brew: Two bags or 10+ minutes. Press the bag with a spoon before removing.
Evening ritual: Brew one cup an hour before bed with honey. Many customers cycle this with our chamomile teas.
Iced: Brew strong, cool, pour over ice with extra lemon. A naturally calming alternative to sweet iced tea.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is ashwagandha? Ashwagandha (also called Indian Ginseng or Withania somnifera) is one of the most important herbs in Ayurvedic tradition. It is classified as an adaptogen — a category of botanicals with a long history of use in traditional wellness practices.
Is this tea caffeine-free? Yes. All ingredients are naturally caffeine-free.
Should I drink it morning or evening? Both work. In Ayurveda, ashwagandha is taken regularly — many of our customers prefer evening for its calming character, while others enjoy a morning cup with citrus.
Is this the same as ashwagandha capsules? No. Capsules typically use a concentrated extract. This is whole root steeped as tea — gentler, slower, and a more traditional way of using the herb.
What does it taste like? Earthy and grounding from the ashwagandha, brightened by lemon and orange, finished with warming ginger. Naturally citrusy without being sour. (This organic ashwagandha lemon ginger tea is also called an ashwagandha lemon and ginger tea.)
Founder's Note
"Ashwagandha is the herb my grandfather drank every day. Not for any one reason — just as part of life. We chose lemon and orange to make this tea feel daily. Something you reach for, not something you remember to take." — Founder of Herbal Cup Tea
