Why This Tea Works

Turmeric Root

Organic turmeric root, rich in curcumin — a cornerstone of Ayurvedic wellness tradition for centuries.

Ginger Root

Organic ginger root with natural gingerol — prized in Ayurveda for its warming, aromatic qualities.

Black Pepper

Black pepper with natural piperine — traditionally combined with turmeric in Ayurveda to enhance its benefits.

"Black pepper is the key — it's traditionally paired with turmeric in Ayurvedic practice to enhance absorption."

Hook

This is moringa in its purest form — one ingredient, no filler, maximum character. Organic moringa leaves from the tree known across Africa as the "miracle tree," documented to contain 77 naturally occurring minerals, naturally high vitamin C, and more protein than most plants — brewed into a clean, green, mineral-rich moringa tea that lets you taste exactly what this remarkable leaf has to offer, with nothing else in the way.

Story

Moringa is called the miracle tree. In Africa, it is called the miracle tree — and once you understand this plant, you understand why that name has held for thousands of years.

You can eat the herbs. The leaves, the flowers, the bark, the fruit — all of it. Every part of the moringa tree is usable. It has 77 minerals. It is the highest known plant source of vitamin C. More protein than most other plants. In Africa and Asia, moringa has been grown for thousands of years as food — a protein-rich alternative to meat. Entire communities have relied on this single tree for nourishment. This is not a trendy ingredient that appeared on a wellness blog last year. This is a tree that has fed people across two continents for millennia.

Our founder has moringa in four different blends — with turmeric, with ashwagandha, with ginger, with cinnamon. But customers kept asking: where is the moringa by itself? Where is the one that is just moringa?

This is that tea. One ingredient. Organic moringa leaves, low-temperature dried to preserve the natural character of the leaf. No turmeric to add golden warmth. No ashwagandha to add grounding depth. No ginger, no hibiscus, no licorice, no black pepper. Just the miracle tree, alone in the cup, showing you everything it is.

When you taste this tea, you taste moringa. The green, clean, mineral-forward leaf. The subtle earthiness. The slight nuttiness. There is nothing to hide behind and nothing to distract from. Every sip is the tree itself.

This is the purist's choice. If you have never tried moringa, start here. If you already love our moringa blends, come back to the source. This is where it all begins.

What You'Ll Taste

🌿 First sip: Clean, green, and unmistakably leafy — the moringa arrives pure and direct, with a fresh, almost grassy brightness that fills the cup 🌱 Mid-palate: A smooth, mineral-rich depth builds underneath the green — earthy, warm, with a subtle nuttiness that gives the single leaf real complexity 🍃 Finish: A gentle, clean fade — slightly sweet, slightly herbal, with a lingering mineral warmth that stays quietly on the palate

Tasting notes: clean green leaf · mineral richness · earthy depth · subtle nuttiness · gentle natural sweetness · smooth, grounding finish

How this compares to our moringa blends:

  • This tea (Moringa Tulsi): Pure moringa. No other ingredients. The raw, unadorned character of the leaf — green, mineral, honest.
  • Moringa Turmeric (#10): Moringa + turmeric + hibiscus + licorice + black pepper. Golden warmth and tartness added to the moringa base.
  • Moringa Ashwagandha (#11): Moringa + ashwagandha + ginger + hibiscus + rosehips. Grounding root depth paired with the leaf.

Our customers' favorite add-ins:

  • Nothing at all — many purists drink this completely unadorned to taste moringa in its truest form
  • A drizzle of honey — rounds out the earthy mineral notes with gentle sweetness
  • A squeeze of lemon — brightens the green character into something sparkling and fresh
  • A splash of oat milk — softens the leaf into a creamy, mineral-rich green latte

How To Brew

Standard cup: Pour freshly boiled water (200-212°F) over one tea bag. Steep 5-7 minutes. You will see the water turn a beautiful deep green as the moringa releases its character. With a single-ingredient tea, the steep time directly shapes the cup — shorter for lighter and brighter, longer for deeper and more mineral-rich.

Stronger brew: Use two bags or steep 10-15 minutes. Herbal teas never turn bitter — they only get richer. With pure moringa, a longer steep pulls out the full mineral depth that makes this leaf extraordinary. Gently press the tea bag with a spoon before removing to release every last drop.

Pure moringa iced tea: Brew two bags in 8 oz of hot water for 10 minutes. Let cool, pour over a full glass of ice. Add honey and a squeeze of lemon if you like. The green color is vibrant in the glass and the clean, leafy character becomes wonderfully refreshing cold.

Moringa morning latte: Brew one bag in a small amount of hot water for 7-10 minutes. Add warm oat milk or whole milk and a spoonful of honey. This makes a simple, clean green latte — no matcha, no additives, just moringa and milk. The mineral richness gives the latte a body and depth that surprises people.

Our founder's cup: Steep one bag in boiling water for a full 10 minutes. Squeeze the bag thoroughly. Drink it as warm as possible. No honey, no lemon, nothing. Just moringa. That is the way to know this leaf.

Faq

What does Moringa Tulsi Ayurvedic Tea taste like? Clean, green, and mineral-rich. This is a single-ingredient tea — 100% organic moringa leaves — so you taste the leaf itself, without any other herbs shaping the flavor. The first impression is a fresh, leafy green character, followed by a smooth earthy depth and subtle nuttiness. There is a gentle natural sweetness at the finish. Many customers describe it as grounding and surprisingly complex for a single ingredient.

What is moringa, and why is it called the "miracle tree"? Moringa comes from the Moringa oleifera tree, which is known across Africa as the "miracle tree." Every part of the tree is usable — the leaves, the flowers, the bark, the fruit. Moringa leaves are documented to contain 77 naturally occurring minerals, are naturally high in vitamin C, and contain more protein than most plants. Moringa has been cultivated as food — including as a protein-rich alternative to meat — across Africa and Asia for thousands of years.

Is this tea caffeine-free? Yes. This is a 100% herbal tea — naturally caffeine-free. You can enjoy it morning, afternoon, or evening.

How is this different from your Moringa Turmeric and Moringa Ashwagandha teas? This is pure moringa — one single ingredient, nothing else. Our Moringa Turmeric (#10) pairs moringa with turmeric, hibiscus, licorice root, and black pepper for a green-gold cup with tartness and warmth. Our Moringa Ashwagandha (#11) pairs moringa with ashwagandha root, ginger, hibiscus, and rosehips for a grounding root-and-leaf blend. If you want moringa and only moringa — the purist's choice — this is the tea to start with. Then explore the blends to see how moringa plays with other herbs.

Can I eat the moringa leaves from the tea bag? The moringa leaves in our tea bags are food-grade and edible. Our founder often says you can eat the herbs — the leaves, the flowers, all of it. Some customers open the bag after brewing and add the leaves to smoothies, soups, or salads.

Why "antioxidant" in the name? Moringa leaves naturally contain antioxidant compounds — this is a well-documented botanical characteristic of the Moringa oleifera plant. The name reflects this natural property of the ingredient itself.

What is the best way to brew this tea? Steep one tea bag in freshly boiled water for 5-7 minutes for a lighter cup, or 10-15 minutes for a fuller, more mineral-rich cup. Herbal teas never turn bitter — only richer. Press the bag gently before removing to release the full extract. Best enjoyed as warm as possible. Also excellent iced.

FOUNDER'S NOTE

"Moringa is called the miracle tree. In Africa, it is called the miracle tree. You can eat the herbs — the leaves, the flowers, the bark, the fruit. Everything. It has 77 minerals. It is the highest known plant source of vitamin C. More protein than most other plants. In Africa and Asia, people have grown moringa for thousands of years as food — as a protein-rich alternative to meat. This is not something new. This tree has been feeding people for a very, very long time. Now, I have moringa in many of our blends — with turmeric, with ashwagandha. But this one is different. This is moringa by itself. One ingredient. Nothing else. When you drink this tea, you taste moringa. Just moringa. The green, the minerals, the character of this leaf — all of it, with nothing in the way. This is where you start. This is the foundation. Then you explore." — Founder of Herbal Cup Tea
