Our organic moringa tea starts with moringa leaf and adds a little ginger root, hibiscus and stevia leaf. You taste the grassy green moringa first, then a touch of ginger warmth, a light hibiscus tartness and a soft sweetness from the stevia. It's caffeine-free, and a good first cup if you're new to moringa tea.

The Story Behind This Moringa Tea

Moringa (Moringa oleifera) was food long before it was tea. It has been grown in Africa and Asia for thousands of years, so this is not a trendy ingredient that appeared on a wellness blog last year.

Our founder puts moringa in several of our blends — with turmeric, with ashwagandha, with lemon, with cinnamon. In this one the moringa leaf leads, and three other organic ingredients round it out.

The moringa is organic leaf, low-temperature dried to preserve its natural character. Next to it in the bag are organic ginger root for a little warmth, organic hibiscus flowers for tartness and color, and organic stevia leaf for a light sweetness. That's the whole list: four ingredients.

When you taste this tea, you taste moringa first. The green, clean leaf. The subtle earthiness. The slight nuttiness. Then the ginger, hibiscus and stevia come in around it: a little warmth, a little tartness, a little sweetness.

If you have never tried moringa, start here. If you already love our moringa blends, this cup keeps the leaf front and center.

What You'll Taste

🌿 First sip: Clean, green and leafy. The moringa comes through first, with a fresh, almost grassy brightness 🌱 Mid-palate: A light hibiscus tartness and a little ginger warmth build under the green, along with the subtle nuttiness of the leaf 🍃 Finish: A gentle, clean fade, softly sweet from the stevia leaf, with a lingering earthy warmth

Tasting notes: grassy green leaf · a little ginger warmth · light hibiscus tartness · subtle nuttiness · soft stevia sweetness · smooth, lingering finish

How this compares to our moringa blends:

  • This tea (Organic Moringa): Moringa + ginger + hibiscus + stevia leaf. The moringa leaf up front, with a little warmth, tartness and sweetness around it.
  • Moringa Turmeric: Moringa + turmeric + hibiscus + licorice + black pepper. Golden warmth and tartness added to the moringa base.
  • Moringa Ashwagandha: Moringa + ashwagandha + ginger + hibiscus + rosehips. Root depth paired with the leaf.
  • Moringa Lemon Ginger: Moringa + ginger + lemon peel + hibiscus. Zesty lemon peel in place of the stevia leaf.

Our customers' favorite add-ins:

  • Nothing at all — the way our founder drinks it
  • A drizzle of honey — rounds out the earthy notes with gentle sweetness
  • A squeeze of lemon — brightens the green character into something sparkling and fresh
  • A splash of oat milk — softens the cup into a creamy latte

How to Brew Moringa Tea

Standard cup: Pour freshly boiled water (200-212°F) over one tea bag. Steep 5-7 minutes. You will see the water darken to a warm amber as the moringa and hibiscus steep. The steep time shapes the cup — shorter for lighter and brighter, longer for deeper and earthier.

Stronger brew: Use two bags or steep 10-15 minutes. Gently press the tea bag with a spoon before removing to release every last drop.

Moringa iced tea: Brew two bags in 8 oz of hot water for 10 minutes. Let cool, pour over a full glass of ice. Add honey and a squeeze of lemon if you like. Served cold, the hibiscus tartness and the clean, leafy moringa make a refreshing glass.

Moringa morning latte: Brew one bag in a small amount of hot water for 7-10 minutes. Add warm oat milk and a spoonful of honey. The earthy leaf gives the latte body, and the ginger adds a little warmth.

Our founder's cup: Steep one bag in boiling water for a full 10 minutes. Squeeze the bag thoroughly. Drink it as warm as possible. No honey, no lemon, nothing added. That is the way to know this tea.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this organic moringa tea taste like? Clean, green, and grassy. The first impression is the fresh, leafy moringa, followed by a smooth earthy depth and subtle nuttiness. The hibiscus adds a light tartness, the ginger a little warmth, and the stevia leaf a gentle sweetness at the finish.

What is in this tea besides moringa? Three more organic ingredients: ginger root, hibiscus flowers and stevia leaf. Moringa leaf comes first on the ingredient list, and those four are everything in the bag.

Is this tea sweetened? Lightly, with organic stevia leaf. There is no other sweetener in the blend, so taste a cup before you add honey.

What is moringa? Moringa comes from the Moringa oleifera tree, grown as food across Africa and Asia for thousands of years. In this tea, the dried organic leaves are the green, earthy base under the ginger, hibiscus and stevia.

Is this tea caffeine-free? Yes. This is a 100% herbal tea — naturally caffeine-free. You can enjoy it morning, afternoon, or evening.

How is this different from your other moringa teas? This one puts the moringa leaf at the center, with ginger, hibiscus and stevia leaf around it. Our Moringa Turmeric pairs moringa with turmeric, hibiscus, licorice root, and black pepper for a green-gold cup with tartness and warmth. Our Moringa Ashwagandha pairs moringa with ashwagandha root, ginger, hibiscus, and rosehips for an earthy root-and-leaf blend. Our Moringa Lemon Ginger is the closest cousin: moringa, ginger and hibiscus with real lemon peel in place of the stevia. If you are new to moringa, start with this one, then try the others to see how moringa plays with other herbs.

What is the best way to brew this tea? Steep one tea bag in freshly boiled water for 5-7 minutes for a lighter cup, or 10-15 minutes for a fuller, earthier cup. Press the bag gently before removing to release the full extract. Best enjoyed as warm as possible. Also excellent iced.

Founder's Note

"In Africa and Asia, people have grown moringa for thousands of years as food. This is not something new. This tree has been feeding people for a very, very long time. Now, I have moringa in many of our blends — with turmeric, with ashwagandha. When you drink this tea, you taste moringa. The green, the character of this leaf. This is where you start. This is the foundation. Then you explore." — Founder of Herbal Cup Tea
